City-Trilogy – experimental films for „ins and outs“
Three videos / experimental films with a soundtrack for „ins and outs“, a film project & short film festival around Candia Neumann’s Galerie no Cube. They deal with first perceptions and impressions of functional architecture of post-war modernism in Germany: grid, overwhelming, disturbing but also warmth.
“The No Cube has been in Münster for eight years now. It is a free, non-commercial show and studio space for art and media. Every year four to five exhibitions and projects of contemporary art reach an interested audience. In 2021, the Stiftung Kunstfonds and NEUSTART KULTUR funded a film project in and around the No Cube with a grant for cultural mediators: short art films were made, the artists, their works, the space and the urban surroundings being the subject. The subject of the film „no Cube“ is a mini cosmos that is exemplary for contemporary artistic activity and exists like a creative biotope beyond the large museums and exhibition halls, always endangered by the consequences of current gentrification.“
Drei Videos / Experimentalfilme mit Soundtrack für „ins and outs“, ein Filmprojekt & Kurzfilmfestival rund um die Galerie no cube von Candia Neumann. Sie befassen sich mit ersten Wahrnehmungen und Eindrücken funktionaler Architektur der Nachkriegsmoderne in Deutschland: Raster, Überwältigung, Verstörung aber auch Wärme.
„Seit mittlerweile acht Jahren gibt es den no cube in Münster. Es ist ein freier, nicht kommerzieller Schau- und Atelierraum für Kunst und Medien. Jedes Jahr erreichen vier bis fünf Ausstellungen und Projekte der Gegenwartskunst ein interessiertes Publikum. In Jahr 2021 hat die Stiftung Kunstfonds und NEUSTART KULTUR mit einem Stipendium für kulturvermittelnde Akteuere ein Filmprojekt in und um den no cube herum gefördert: Es entstanden kurze Kunstfilme, die Künstlerinnen und Künstler, ihre Werke, den Raum und den urbanen Umraum zum Thema nehmen. Das Filmsujet „no cube“ ist ein Minikosmos, der exemplarisch für künstlerisches Handeln in der Gegenwart steht und wie ein kreatives Biotop jenseits der großen Museen und Ausstellungshäuser existiert, stets gefährdet durch die Folgen der aktuellen Gentrifizierung.“
